About me

My name is Livia Badiani, but most people call me Liv (she/her). I’m from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where I live with my cat, Lily.

I've always enjoyed learning how the world works, making sense of things, and finding ways to make them better. As a designer, what I really like is creating something that is valuable to people — impacting the client, sure, but most of all helping the team, optimizing processes, and making things that are helpful, and sometimes fun to use and beautiful to look at. I'm of the belief that we reach excellence through joy.

I thrive when I’m crafting a story and building a vision around it. That’s where my imagination and whimsical spirit meet the strategic mindset I’ve built over years of experience in corporate and academic environments.

I like learning about different industries and I say yes to opportunities beyond my scope when I believe I can help. That’s how I became DesignOps for a team of over 90+ designers, and co-leader of a company-wide Pride group, working on Diversity & Inclusion initiatives.

  • Beyond work

  • What makes me happy

Doing side quests, having fresh pastries with some nice coffee, playing games (particularly dungeons & dragons), picking out (or making) a really good gift for a loved one, being outside in a peaceful place, singing and dancing, learning a great word, binge-watching a very good TV show, feeling a sense of belonging, cooking a delicious meal.

    Interests and hobbies

I've been interested in making art my whole life, and that leads me to explore different areas of expertise that end up adding to my toolkit in different ways. I've pursued different hobbies and opportunities along my life — painting, ceramics, songwriting, postermaking, zinemaking, photography, bookbinding, vlogging. My most recent endeavour is DJing.
